Get Ahead of 2026 Reporting Season

As your environmental reporting period draws to a close, now’s the perfect moment to kick off preparation for your next emissions submission. Starting your data collection early means fewer last-minute rushes, cleaner data and a smoother process.

Here’s how to get ahead this December:

• Take a look at last year’s data collection and identify what you’ll need again this time.
• Notify relevant teams (operations, finance, travel, etc.) so they’re ready for the data you’ll need in January.
• If you’d like help with data integrations or a refresh of your collection setup, let’s talk now.

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) has now released the 2025 UK greenhouse gas conversion factors, which underpin all UK carbon reporting. These updates reflect the latest data on energy generation, transport and materials, directly influencing how organisational footprints are calculated.

Key updates to be aware of:

• Electricity and EVs: Emission factors have dropped by around 15–20% as the UK grid continues to decarbonise
• Bioenergy and waste: New data shows more accurate emissions, with waste factors down by about 27%
• Business air travel: Updated flight data reflects post-pandemic trends, reducing emissions by up to 40%

We’ve already updated the Flotilla platform to include the new DEFRA 2025 dataset, so your calculations reflect the latest standards and you’re fully prepared for a compliant submission.

At Flotilla, we’re committed to making your reporting as accurate, efficient and stress-free as possible. Get ahead of the 2026 rush and get your reporting underway.
